An Evening with the Jewelry Salesman (or Tomboy)

He said I’d be a good dancer
If I could just learn to not lead
So we drank some beer instead
Shot rum
Talked of his new girl
My old wounds
How you had to take what you could
From life,
Just steal it
And walk away

He sold me my first diamonds the other day
And although I’m still so very rough around the edges
I think I have a little more class
